I have a feature request for the Android version of AquaMail.
Please read all of this message carefully before responding. Thank you very much.
I'm running version 2.6.0 of AquaMail on two different Android devices, and I'm hoping that a new "Relocate to folder" action could be added for the purpose of transfering messages from one folder to another, without them remaining in the original folder.
I know that I can end up with the same result as "Relocate to folder" by selecting messages in a folder, then running "Copy to folder", then re-selecting these same messages, and then running "Perma delete".
This works acceptably for a small number of messages, but sometimes I have literally dozens of messages in one folder that I want to relocate into another folder, and often in this case, the messages that I want to relocate are not consecutive. This means that after I select these dozens of messages and run "Copy to folder", I have to repeat the selection of these same messages in the original folder and then run "Perma delete".
However, with a large number of non-consecutive messages, this procedure is error prone. I might accidentally not reselect the exact same large set of non-consecutive messages that I selected originally, which means that I might accidentally do a "Perma delete" on some messages that I did not originally include in "Copy to folder". Or I might accidentally overlook some of this large number of non-consecutive messages and therefore not "Perma delete" them, thereby causing them to remain in the original folder in addition to being saved in the new folder.
Also, with dozens of messages to relocate from one folder to another (especially when they are not consecutive), this is involves a painfully large amount of effort.
There are two possibilities for the feature that I am requesting:
(1) Add a "Relocate to folder" action in addition to "Copy to folder" which will both copy the selected messages to the new folder *and* then delete them from the original folder.
... or ...
(2) After "Copy to folder" gets run, keep the same messages marked as selected in the original folder. This way, we could then just immedialte follow this "Copy to folder" with "Perma delete", and therefore we wouldn't have to perform the error-prone and time-consuming procedure of individually reselecting each of those messages again before running "Perma delete".
Thank you very much for considering this feature request.
