Please read and understand everything that I'm writing in this message before responding. Thank you very much.
I'm running the latest AquaMail Premium under Android.
I'm requesting a "Move to folder" action, and here is why ...
First of all, for moving a single message from one folder to another, it's a multi-step process:
(1) Select the message in the source folder.
(2) Select "Copy to folder..."
(3) Select the destination folder.
(4) Select "OK".
(5) Select the message again in the source folder.
(6) Select "Perma delete"
(7) Select "OK"
I can accept this amount of interaction, if I'm only wanting to move one single message.
HOWEVER (!!!) ...
Sometimes I want to move a large number of messages from one folder to another, and occasionally, these messages are not stored sequentially in the source folder. For example, please consider the following scenario, which is representative of what I indeed actually need to do sometimes:
(A) I have literally hundreds of messages in the source folder.
(B) I want to move (for example) 30 of those messages to the destination folder, and these messages are interspersed throughout the source folder. In other words, they do not appear sequentially within the source folder.
(C) I go through the source folder, and I select each of the 30 messages one by one. Since they are not sequential, this requires me to scroll through the hundreds of messages and click on the ones that I want to move.
(D) After having selected the 30 messages, perform steps 2, 3, and 4 that I outlined above.
(E) I once again repeat the process of going through the source folder, and I select each of those same 30 messages one by one. Since they are not sequential, this requires me to scroll through the hundreds of messages and once again click on all of the exact same ones that I originally selected in step C.
(F) Perform steps 6 and 7 as outlined above.
It turns out that step "E" is a time-consuming nuisance. Furthermore, it is quite error prone, because I might accidentally miss one or more of the originally copied messages, and also, I might accidentally incorrectly select one or more messages that I never selected in step "C" in the first place.
Because of what I have just outlined here, I'd like to request the following feature:
* Implement a "Move to folder" action in addtion to "Copy to folder". It would do a "copy and perma-delete" on every message that is originally selected. This eliminates the possiblity of the step "E" errors that I described above.
An alternative can be as follows:
* If "Copy to folder" is performed, do not clear the message selection after the copy takes place. This will allow the same original messages to stay selected, so that an immediately subsequent "Perma delete" will be able to correctly delete *only* those messages which were selected for copying.
In either case, this would be a very helpful and useful feature.
Thank you very much for considering this feature request.
