AquaMail Pro on new phone

I've been using AquaMail for many years, and have just got my third new phone to use it, using Android 15.

I downloaded the app from PlayStore and tried to load a backup from my last phone which uses v.1.55.2-562 and has five email accounts. But it wouldn't load because it was a backup from Pro.

I removed the app, and downloaded it again. Manually installed one email account, which works fine. But it won't load the backup.

I don't remember having this problem the last time I upgraded the phone.  How do I fix this please?
