Mark Not Spam
« on: April 07, 2018, 07:13:15 pm »
I've been searching all the forum with no luck on this question;
How can I mark an address/email NOT SPAM
I found one similar question, but the answer DOES NOT work for me or neither any of my friends...
It tells you to just move the email from Spam folder to any other folder...ex. Inbox, but this doesn't seem to work because next time a mail arrives from same sender, it arrives in Spam folder again.
Isn't there any option for marking an email as NOT SPAM???

Just move the message from Spam folder to Inbox or to any other folder. Your mail server's spam filter will (should) *learn* and adjust its filtering rules as you move messages this way.

I do apreciate the intent for an answer, but i dont think you read all my post;
I do say there are people saying that you just move the mail from inbox to any other folder....BUT THIS DOES NOT WORK. Not for me and neither for two friends with the same problem. We all use Gmail and have to enter/use Gmail app to physically enter Spam folder and there select the mail and the option NOT SPAM.
There should have been a similar option in Aquamail.... :(

I do not use GMail, Is there not an option in GMail to mark the email as not Spam, which will prevent future emails from a known sender being sent to Spam Folder.

I appreciate it is an annoying thing, while it is happening.

As I understand it AM just follows the rules of the server, but I could be wrong.

There isn't a universal mechanism for universal mail apps to tell mail service(s) that a message is spam or not spam.

Strange but true. An omission in the IMAP spec.

So all we can do is move messages to / from Spam folder.

Exactly, that's what I wrote in my answer above. @Julio66 thought, however, that I did not understand him correctly:
