Images inserted in portrait mode?

When I insert an image into a message, it always inserts it in landscape mode.  Is there a way to do that?  Thanks.  /bernie\

We query the gallery for what orientation the image is in and apply the proper rotation, and also read EXIF tags...

...but I've seen some cases where gallery reported images as "not rotated" whereas in fact they were.
