How do I configure an Exchange server's Domain setting?
« on: August 31, 2017, 11:37:25 pm »
My workplace uses Groupwise's datasync service to enable mobile device synchronization. I believe it emulates Exchange. When setting up an exchange account in Android's default account settings, there is a Domain field. That field is supposed to be filled with "\username" in order for it to work.

When configuring an Exchange account in AquaMail, the Domain field is not available. If I fill everything else out correctly, the server returns a 403 error when I hit "next".

Any tips? Am I missing something? Has anyone else had any luck connecting to an account that requires a Domain value?

Thanks!

First 403 most likely means that your server -- which is "kind of sort of like Exchange but not Exchange" -- does not support the EWS (Exchange Web Services) network protocol which Aqua uses to connect to Exchange.

For an actual login error, you'd be getting a 401.

But just for completeness' sake - you can use a domain by tapping the Manual button on the account setup screen and entering:

"domain\user"

into the login input field.
