Refresh Folder List
« on: March 31, 2017, 01:07:49 am »
I'm using aqua mail with an exchange server.

I deleted some folders on the server, but the still show in aqua mail.  I do I refresh the server list so that the deleted folders no longer show up in aqua mail?

You can trigger the refresh in the Account-specific settings:
-> long press on account name (in the app's main window) -> Options and folders -> Folders -> let the folder list (automatically) refresh: just wait a few seconds.

I'm not really sure what's going on here.  I see that I can create a test folder on the server (not using aqua mail) and that folder then shows up in the folder list in aqua mail. But if I then delete that folder on the server, in aqua mail that folder still shows up under deleted items, even after I empty the trash on the server.  The folder is no where to be found on the server, but still shows up in that deleted items section on aqua mail.

How do I get rid of it there?

If I create a new account, that folder does not appear. If course that's not really the answer as I wouldn't want to have to create a new account each time I delete a folder.

This looks like a bug to me. I'm using 1.8.2-216.

Which i already did and then posted an additional test that I did to further show what was happening.

I can create a folder, it then shows up in the folder list, but if i delete it, it moves to under deleted items and stays the forever.

I don't see how this could be anything I'm doing wrong. There's something else that's wrong here.

This is connecting to an exchange server, so Outlook on the desktop. When I did the test earlier, I actually created the folder via the webmail interface.

Created folder, the in aqua mail, it shows up with my other folders where it should. Deleted it in webmail and then in aqua mail, it moves and shows up under deleted items.

In Outlook or webmail, the folder no longer shows at all and there's nothing under deleted at all.

Hope that made it more clear.

I believe this is how Exchange works - seen it in Office 365. Filtering out any folders under Deleted doesn't seem like the right thing to do, since they are there. But I'll check.

I have removed the folder from Deleted, in webmail. No folder appears under Deleted in webmail but they are still in Aquamail. Did I miss anything?

Hmm, looks like it works sometimes -- when a folder you're deleting from Deleted has sub-folders -- and doesn't work when it doesn't.

I'll investigate.
