I enable the "Android 6 battery exception "in "received mail" menu, but it sometimes show again... In this case, i can't get the (push) emails... It need to check time to time this settings and add it time to time... you able to fix this?

Yes, I've seen this on my Honor 5C (or 6C?). Other users report that MIUI's (Xiaomi's) battery optimization setting gets reset too.

The app (or "any" app) has no control over these settings.

These are either bugs in these phones' system software, or a deliberate decision ("the user says he wants app X to work in the background, but we know better").

Yes, i user a Xiaomi phone :(Redmi Note 3).

Interesting, because the other apps (Messenger, Whatsapp) not do this.. Seems to be the "popular" apps the Miui recognise and enable the background running, not need to enable it in battery settings. I use a different email app before (Newton mail) and it working well. I think it happend the same, the miui recognise the newton mail, and "see" this is a email app and not touch it.

I think, somehow need to do the same with Aqua Mail.

Yep. Because they (Xiaomi, Huawei, etc.) *know* that what they do is wrong and will break apps. And so they "whitelist" certain well known apps.
