Server Mail
« on: November 01, 2016, 01:13:18 pm »
Some emails I want to keep on the server, to download later, but the ones I don't, I can't seem to delete permenantly. I select 'delete permenantly', but if I use Thunderbird to download, it's still there.

It's not Gmail
it's freeola server
Using Pop3 in AquaMail
Using Pop3 in Thunderbird

I just see Help/FAQs/Forum
Account options
Composing and sending
Pop3 options
Folders

I can't actually select a folder from this screen, only options. (see attachment)
From which I get
Show in Smart folder
Do not notify
Colour indicator and an option to change colour

Yes, deleting it this way did work. It didn't download in Thunderbird.
When I was first setting up the account I forgot to change the IMAP to POP3, and got an error, so that won't work.

According to Freeola  support page, they do support IMAP:
http://freeola.com/support/misc-manual-settings.html

I second Paris Geek's recommendation: just change all your accounts to IMAP, and your life will become much easier.

Thanks, I'll check again, in case I made a mistake. It's an old email account I use, but I no longer have a full Freeola account. We used to have our internet through Freeola years ago, so I can receive, but have to use my Sky account to send.

No, can't set up IMAP. The email account was set up when I had internet account, as I said years ago. I'll have to delete emails, then delete them from the deleted folder :-) . One last question. Is there a way of doing this when I close the app?
