Number of fetched emails in "Sent" and "Deleted" > mail account?

I setup a POP3 account (for a long existing gmail.com) inside AquaMail.

Afterwards I fetched initially all existing emails which AquaMails found on gmail server.

Much to my surprise the number of fetched emails in folder "Sent" (355) is bigger than the number of emails I find In folder "Sent Mail" (312) when I sign in through (Chrome) browser.

Similarly the number of emails in AquaMail "Deleted" folder (156) is bigger than in Gmail original "Trash" folder (94) after browser login.

How comes?

Where are the missing emails hidden?

Gmail (web mail) shows *conversation* counts, AquaMail shows *message* counts.
