how to not showing full email address in recipients
« on: May 31, 2015, 07:57:25 am »
Hi, i am not able to remove the view of full email address from the To: and From:  fields when viewing a message....when you have a lot of recipients, that's too cumbersome

I'm sure Aqua has this option , just can't find it... neither in the settings nor in the forum

a new and enthusiast user trying to get through the massive amount of options...

I meant how to hide , in message wiew,  the extended email address from each the recipient list, just showing the contact name

Wow! this is the last answer I expected. Most important,  when contact names (in particular the ones from the GAL of the Exchange server side) are shown in short form they are formatted (hyperlinked) so that by picking it you can remove, or paste, or cut instantaneously. The cyanogen std mail app or any other ordinary has this.

I still believe that it is possible and I wasn't able to describe the issue properly...

Scroll the list of recipients, in your mail view, and tap on the arrow ^ to the right. This will reduce the message header to only two lines.

In addition to Paris Geek's solution:
Sometimes it could be hard to hit exactly this small arrow ^.
Fortunately you will be able to collapse the recipient list also by just tapping on ANY white area within the recipient list.

You can setup this option in app settings :

> Main window (Account list view)  > Settings > Contacts > enable 'Contact chips'

However,  this option (Show contacts as "chips", not text) is only for the "Composing screen" if you will send a message.  It has no effect in message view for received messages.

Thanks....I knew IT was possibile!

However in main account view, if I go settings>contacts. I don't get the chpis option. See screenshot.

For your info I have download and installed aqua PRO mail two days ago and it's the 1.5.5.34 unlocked.

Looks like my menu for Contacts is far more different from the one you posted

1. It IS possible, but not in message view for received messages (... as mentioned in your first post / screenshot)
2. You need to install version 1.5.7.   If this version is not showing in play store you can use the following download link for the recent build 1.5.7.10:

Ok done and installed.

Now I understand the problem of the other forum....with chips it actually visualize the number code rather than the name surname.

May I ask if this :
1)is it seen as a problem for other users
2) is it planned to be solved ( i.e. showing name and surname instead of code. This is actually the company ID. I think most of the large corporations who runs GAL on Exchange use this field)
3) is it planned to have chips visualization mode also when in message view mode

3) This has to be answered by the (sole) developer, Kostya.

"Contact chips" are in message compose mode only.

Message view does not use chips and always -- in "full header" mode -- shows CC / To list in "Name <address@domain>" format.

It might change in the future, but right now, that's how it is.
