Saving email addresses

I'm sure this is somewhere in the settings but I can't find it.

When I write an email to a person - not already in my contacts - how can I make AM Pro automatically add that email address to my contacts. Preferably in a separate contacts list so I can review it separately.

Thunderbird does this, putting the new emails in a separate address book called "acquired". Is that possible in android with Aquamail?

Yes, app settings -> contacts -> enable "Auto-add".

The group will be called "AquaMail" -- as you can see, I have great imagination, right up there with the likes of Tim Burton, Walt Disney, and William Burroughs

You will find this option in AquaMail settings:

> Main window (Account list view) > menu (Three dots button) > Settings > Contacts > scroll down to the very last option: enable "Auto-add contacts "

Hi Kostya,

I know I'm resurrecting an old thread, but it fits perfectly for my question. Essentially, I'm looking for a way to select a specific address book for auto-added recipients, instead of the first(?)/default(?) one (In my case: "Phone only"). Instead, I want these recipients to be added to a WebDAV address book ("Collected"). Do you think this is possible, and if so, how?

In the mean time, - let me try to help you with some information.
I am not 100% sure, but I believe Aquamail does not allow adding recipients to a different address book. However, you might be able to do something based on the fact that the auto-added addresses are in a separate group.

The FAQ, http://www.aqua-mail.com/?page_id=227 , describes this:

Saving mail recipients (contacts)

You can save manually entered names/emails when composing a message by long pressing the contact picking button to the left of the respective entry field. You’ll be prompted for which one to save if there are several.

Also, AquaMail can automatically save all your outgoing mail recipients in the device’s Contact list. This is disabled by default, you can enable it in the app’s settings under Contacts.

When enabled, AquaMail will add all outgoing mail recipients to a separate group, “AquaMail”, which will be created in your device’s primary Google account. This group’s contacts will not be listed with all the others (this can be changed later in the Contacts/People app).
