Not syncing

Aquamail isn't syncing when the phone is sleeping.  It's as though data is turned off and I'm getting that red error text under the account names.

This just started after the last update and it's the only app that I'm having a sync issue with.

If you're getting that "previous sync time" in red, then the app is getting network (connectivity) errors when trying to sync.

And connectivity is a system level thing.

Needless to say, from an app's point of view, there is nothing different about using the network when the device is sleeping vs. when it's awake.

Do you use any battery saving apps (third party or built-in) that might prevent Aqua from being able to use the network?

One thing to check though: AquaMail settings -> Network -> make sure "DNS resolution" is enabled (checked).

Hi. Thanks for the response.

DNS resolution is checked.

I did have a Battery monitoring app installed that was supposed to be passive but was apparently interfering with background data. I uninstalled it and rebooted.

So far, all seems normal.

I am having same issue on my phone and my wifes...  this started after last update a couple days ago..  DNS is checked and we have no battery savers at all...  please help, this is annoying, i cant get my mail unless Im on a computer

I forgot to mention.. when it does sync (rarely) , i also get "error loading attachment"...

Is your phone's memory card / built-in storage full, by any chance?

Speaking of other apps, do you use Clean Master or similar "memory optimizer" apps?

Also on Android 4.4, swiping an app "away" from the "recent apps list" -- "to clear memory" -- puts that app into a "frozen" state where it won't run in the background (until re-started by the user).

I'm curious about the "error loading attachment" message, though.

Could you capture this in the app's debug log (see my signature below)?

And to get two birds with one stone (the error and the not syncing), it would be great to first refresh "manually" to capture the error, then leave the app running as usual, to capture the "not syncing" issue.

PS - please enable "raw session data" for the log... you can send it to kmansoft / gmail
