Inbox has lost lots of messages (and added new ones)

For some reason, the inbox on my aqua mail has lost all the messages that are more than three hours old. However, it has added about 100 messages that are about two months old.
This is an iCloud account. I've checked the inbox on iCloud.com, and it is fine. Also, the inbox on my Mail.app on this computer is fine. The only problem is with aqua mail on my phone. How can I fix this? I would rebuild, but I don't know how.

Did you recently move a bunch of messages between folders?

If you did, this changes the order of messages on the server -- and since Aqua doesn't load your entire mailbox (like web mail or a desktop mail app can afford to) -- you're seeing messages at the end of the server's message list, but they're not the newest ones.

Please try this:

- Long press the account -> options and folders -> account options

- Change "messages to sync" from "default (25)" to some date-based value, like "last 7 days".

- Back out and refresh the account
