Messages slow loading

Running kit Kat on s5.  Hey.... Anyone know why all of sudden after last update messages seem to load slow? Used to load right away. Does the "settle in delay" have anything to do with it? What exactly is that anyway? Thanks

Can you please clarify if by "loading" you mean --

--  the app going to the server to completely fetch message text (fetched only partially during mail check)

or

-- the app's UI being sluggish, and the on-screen elements being slow to appear, like the message header, that sort of thing?

If the latter, please try Menu -> Compact the database in the app's main window (account list).

If the former, this is heavily affected by mail server and network performance, and these thing can vary, and are outside Aqua's control.

Feel free to capture the issue in a debug log, though (see below).

The ui is fine.  But when I click on the message it now says please wait while message loading. Sonics the former.  It NEVER did that. Maybe I changed something? After last update. Fyi. Love the product! If you Google me u see I produce alot of hit artists... I am a huge supporter of the Android format... My artists love their ios.. I think it's a toy.

You might want to increase how much of each message's text the app loads right when it checks mail.

The defaults are very conservative, I should probably up them. So what happens is that the loading of text content of your messages needs to be completed when you open them (the messages). Message swiping can make it worse -- when the mail server is not very fast, or the network connection -- since there are three side by side.

So: Aqua settings --> network (near the end of the list) --> increase "load when checking mail" maybe to 25K under both Mobile and WiFi.
