IMAP Account still deletes/purges restored deleted messages.

I suspect that the deleted status/flag isn't being cleared when the message is being moved back to the inbox, so is still being culled by the Purge Deleted option.

Tested on my Aquamail Pro 1.3.8 on Samsung Galaxy Pocket GT-S5300

Steps to reproduce.

1) Select message for reading.
2) Select rubbish bin icon (Move to Deleted)
3) Go back twice (to folder list)
4) Select [Deleted] folder
5) Hold deleted message to select.  Status line shows (Tick) One Message.
6) Select menu in top right hand side. (3 vertical dots)  Menu appears.
7) Select "Restore" option from menu.  Message disappears from [Deleted] folder.
8) Back to folder view. (Inbox shows n/n+1) (5/6 for example)
9) Select Inbox folder.
10) Restored Deleted Message shows in Inbox folder as read.  (As expected)
11) Back to folder view.
12) Select [Deleted] folder
13) Select phones Menu Button
14) Select "Purge Deleted" menu option.
15) Restored message deletes, Inbox now shows n/n messages.  EG.  5/5

Don - can you check if the account's Deleted folder is set to sync with a server folder?

You can do this by long pressing [ Deleted ] in the account list.

And does the message actually get moved to the server's INBOX after the restore (and before you purge the entire folder)? This should be easy to see in web mail.

When long pressing the [Deleted] folder, it shows

--> junkmail

Which I'm guessing means it's syncing to that folder?

I have another program (Pop Peeper) monitoring the mailbox, and the message disappears from the inbox when deleted, and returns when restored.
Actually, this time it worked as expected, and the message wasn't purged.

I've just tried it again, deleting two messages, and restoring the second deleted message, and that hasn't been restored to the inbox, and has been purged along with the other deleted message.  (Which is the bug)

All the previous times I've seen the buggy behaviour, have been when I've deleted >1 message, and the restored message has been purged along with the deleted messages.  I'll try another couple of tests and see if I can narrow it down further.  I suspect that I need to have a deleted message remaining to trigger the purge process.

I've just tried a couple more tests, and it is working correctly, apart from the second time in the above example, which definitely faulted.

So, the bug is still there, but there's something else going on that I can't put my finger on.

I'll continue to experiment, and see if I can figure out the exact requirements to reproduce it.

Any thoughts?

I checked the code, my idea about what it could be did not pan out. I was also unable to reproduce this issue, tried several times...

Would it be possible for you to capture this issue in a debug log, with "raw session data" enabled?

Hmmm.  I'm having trouble reproducing it on a small number of messages, but it's definitely happening on longer deleting sprees.  (I've seen it a couple more times since.)

Just to let you know.  I haven't forgotten you.  I'm just having trouble finding a working SD card to install in my phone.

I hope to have one in the next few days, and I'll send you the logs then.
