HTML signature
« on: April 15, 2014, 04:25:26 am »
Hello,

I have posted html into the signature box, but when I send messages, the html is shown as plaintext.  I have formatting vs. plaintext set to "formatting" in the Composing and sending settings.  In the signature box, I have selected rich text, and I do see the rich text formatting bar at the top.  Thank you for your help.  This is the best email app I have found for android!!

Well, rich text messages and signatures -- are encoded in HTML, of course, when the app sends them.

However, there is no way to paste arbitrary HTML into a message / signature, and I don't see this changing any time soon -- because I don't have a editor that would be able to handle arbitrary HTML.

Hm... could you, please, add ability to select file with HTML for signature? You could use editor like you use for add attachments...

Won't happen "tomorrow" but might happen fairly soon as a "side effect" of some other work we're doing...

I saw a response that HTML was not supported in the signature, but it used to be.  It worked... my google pixel xl bricked the other day, when I got it back all the new apps were downloaded and because there was no history on the phone, the signature wasn't carried forward from previously.  No I cannot embed an html signature.  Ideas?

"HTML supported" (or not supported) can mean different things, so to avoid any confusion:

- Aqua Mail's text editor (signature, greeting settings) does support formatting

- Any formatting you add will be encoded and sent as HTML. Same with adding formatting to messages.

- What isn't supported at this time is taking a piece of HTML code "from outside the app" and pasting it into Aqua's signature editor.

- We are hoping to add a feature for this in 1.15.
