Delete message from trash in pop3
« on: February 26, 2014, 12:18:41 am »
Well... i changed my account from imap to pop3.
When i delete a message it is move in trash folder in aquamail and it's fine. On my server the message remain becouse if i check new email with computer i can recevedvit again. It's fine too.
But if i delete message from trash in aquamail... i lost my message on server in inbox folder. The empty trash operation in aquamail delete completely the messages on server and i cant take them on my computer.

I would like that the trash folder in aquamail is indipendent and delete messages ONLY in trash folder aquamail not completely on the server, too.

How can i do? The DELETE OPTION MESSAGE is set on MOVE IN TRASH (without delete from server) and DELETE MESSAGE NOT PRESENT ON SERVER is not checked.

Why i lost my messages in inbox server if i empty the trash folder in aquamail? When i empy trash folder i noticed that in the top right aquamail write: 0.24sec (or other number). I think that when AQUAMAIL writes that means that it has synchronized with the server. I do not want to sync with the server the cleared messages and I thought I just synced up imap account, not pop3.

Dear Iceoair, I pointed out to Kostya this issue twice. Like you, I lost many messages on the server because Pop3 in AquaMail deletes definitely messages on the server once you suppress them in trash folder on your device! This is how it works in Aquamail, and this is quite dangerous, since actions on the device using Pop3 should not alter messages on the server. To me, this is the most important weakness of Aquamail (which is the best client email for the moment). Due to that weakness, my wife switched to Inomail. I use Pro version of Aquamail.

Ah.. so is this normal?  :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[  I use pro version, too.
With imap accounts i think is right that when empty trash delete definetely messages on the server... but in pop3 i think is not so correct. With OutlookExpress or Thunderbird for PC (or other) in pop3 i receved messages in my inbox and i can decide if delete definetely messages on server or leave it.

And keep an option in SETUP of AQUAMAIL for delete completely messages deleted in trash folder or keep them on server? Will be possible? :o

The solution would be to be able to keep messages on server, after deleting them in device trash folder while using pop3. Hope that Kostya is willing and have the time to implement this.
To Fcasoli: priority medium in user request list. Thanks
