Long press on account, click Options and folders, click Account options and select "Hide in app, keep on server" for option Deleting messages.

@jcasares thank you. Quick question, is the message truly hidden or is it deleted from the android device?

Long press on account, click Options and folders, click Account options and select "Hide in app, keep on server" for option Deleting messages.

It is kept on the device for a limited time.

Any mail app has to keep something around, so that those messages won't be treated as new on the next mail check.

And now when I delete the message from AquaMail it is sent the the Trash on the Yahoo server & no longer available for down load by another email client.

This is not the way POP is suppose to operate. I use Windows Live Mail, Thunderbird and Apple's email client on an iPhone. In all cases, if the email client is configured to leave the email on the server, it allows another client to download, even if it was deleted from the first computer to read it.

Well, I will look for another program that implements the POP3 standard correctly. I would not recommend this program to anyone who want to use POP3.

Stop the nonsense. POP3 deletes messages unless you tell you so. Until recently (the mobile era) this was common mail client behavior. Don't blame AquaMail for your lack of knowledge.

Read the RFC1939.

POP3 is not intended to provide extensive manipulation operations of
mail on the server; normally, mail is downloaded and then deleted.  A
more advanced (and complex) protocol, IMAP4, is discussed in
   [RFC1730].

And you can change this with simple configuration.

So be it. I have seen three different implementations of POP3 which allows leaving the email content on the server and deleting it from the device that downloaded the file. I have a need for this implementation so that it is not accidentally deleted from the server.

That is Hide in the app, keep on the server. It's the way a POP3 client knows what it needs to download from server and what it was already downloaded.
The problem is that if you never delete it on the server it won't be deleted from the device either. That is how POP3 works, nothing like some strange app behavior from AquaMail. Just that Kostya was sincere with the wording and instead of telling you that he is deleting the message that it's not (like desktop clients do) he tells you he is hiding it.

Adding to this. Here is how a POP3 desktop client configures an account.

Leave messages on server was some years ago default to unchecked. Now, in most clients it's checked.

You have three options in this case (Postbox, that is a fork of Thunderbird):
- Always leave the messages on the server independently of what you do on the client.
- Delete them from server when you delete them on the client.
- Delete them from server after some days of being downloaded.

I have found the solution, K-9 Mail. Tested it on my Asus TF300TL and it does what I need it to do.

I'm sorry but I do not plan on having two email clients on my aPad. It's been over a year since I started this thread and the Power That Be have chosen not to change the program. I can live with that decision but as a USER, I need a solution to my problem. I have found it and I'm moving on.

No hard feelings.

1. Those users configured their AquaMail the wrong way. If you use hide you won't lose ever your mails on server. If you use move to deleted and you then empty deleted items it's understandable that messages are deleted from server. And last, if you select to delete immediately from server then you already know what the outcome will be.

2. Yes, that's a limitation of the current app. I grant you that but it has nothing to do with what this thread manifest.

What you're requesting is a feature, so go to the feature section and ask for that.

That user comment is nonsense. AquaMail also provides the same feature and it's named "Hide in the app, keep on the server". That he doesn't want to use it is another thing.

The issue you have is with the word "hide" instead of delete.

K9, Kaiten and K@Mail are basically the same client. I bought it with my first Android phone and it was a mess. The developer made development over the public releases so bugs were constant and changed one thing to change it back again a couple of days later. He was also unresponsive to users. I hope never to see it again, but if you're OK with it I'm glad for you. Go ahead and use it. Nobody is forcing you to use AquaMail.

You're assuming too much frenchie. I'm not against change, but not liking the way it is already handled is another thing, and that's what exactly you and others are saying.

You just need what you asked:
- Unhide only ONE specific message
- Show all hidden messages in a folder (to select the one that the user wishes to unhide)
- Decide when to permanently remove hidden messages from the device

There is a feature request forum section. Go there and post your request. Kostya will add it to his list and decide when to do it.

And again, the post was about "How do I not delete mail from server using POP account. If I delete from the Deleted Folder, the message is deleted from the server."
That has a simple answer in AquaMail, "Hide in app, keep on server". That summermug doesn't use this feature and you don't like it, it is another problem.
