Double Tap on Lock Screen

Whenever I double tap the AquaMail notification on the lock screen nothing happens.  Looks like its going to do something but then it just dies.  Is there a setting or is this a bug.  I am running Android Marshmallow.

Some phones expect you to "swipe to unlock" after you've tapped a notification. And only then they take you to whatever the notification "points" to.

And then, lock screen notifications are just "copies" of status bar notifications.

If you unlock the phone first, and then expand and tap on AquaMail's notification -- does that work?
