Disabling POP3 account without deleting
« on: September 24, 2014, 04:32:54 am »
Checking FAQ "Can I exclude a particular account from scheduled mail checks, without having to delete it?" I can only see the instruction for the IMAP account. I think POP3 disablement should be mentioned as well. I did: "Account Options" and unselected all Synch options. Despite it, when switching to the POP3 account I still can see new, unread messages. What am I missing?
Thanks and regards, Krzysztof

Attaching two screenshots:

- Screenshot_2014-09-24-20-21-14.png; MeATT account options
Thanks and regards,
K

Before I got your message, we are in distant time zones I believe, I switched the tablet off. After staring it my MeATT Inbox did not get any new messages, though they arrived, as checked by MyMail and Webmail.
As FAQ should be updated, in my opinion, then additional comment suggesting restarting of AquaMail would suffice, I believe.
Thanks a lot for your help, regards,

Still, when I opened MeATT account, the messages arrived. I was hoping for something like completely disabling the account, just short of deleting it.

I did, with the following comments:
"I am not sure if it is exactly how it should be. I kept sending messages
to POP3 account and had AquaMail active, though, as explained in the bug
report, having the account 'almost' disabled. It received new messages
after I tapped on the inbox and moved Inbox list up or down. I am still
hoping for total disablement of all receiving actions."

"moved message list up and down"

Might be pull to refresh.

If you try to scroll down when the message list is already at the top, it triggers a refresh. There is visual feedback for it, so quite easy to see, if you keep your eyes near the top of the message list.

And yet another possible cause -- even based sync, e.g. when the phone connects to WiFi, etc.

Aqua settings -> Mail, receiving -> Event based (scroll down to see it, defaults to off, but who knows...)

It was both indeed, scrolling and event activated. I was hoping for some master switch for the selected account which would 'freeze' the account, regardless of the global setting. As the account behaves now, it is less important, but may be a good idea.
