I would like to duplicate the aquamail settings of my current Samsung galaxy S7 phone, onto a new Samsung galaxy tab E tablet.

I thought it would be easy to simply copy the Aquamail backup file from the phone to somewhere on the new tablet.

But no matter where I place the file (either on the memory card or the native tablet storage) I can't seem to point Aquamail there to find it.

I am attaching two screenshots.

One shows the aquamail back up and restore screen on the tablet. It appears that I only have two choices, one is to restore from one drive or Google drive. I do not use either of them.

I just used a USB cable to transfer the file onto the tablet.

The other screenshot shows one of several locations I have copied the same Aquamail backup file onto the tablet (in the hope that at least 1 location would be found!)

But no luck.  I can't seem to find and "select" the backup file on the tablet.

What did I do wrong?

Thanks

I would try the following steps:

1 - Create an 'fresh' backup file (on your tablet). Just tap in the button "Backup" on the window which is shown in your screenshot

2 - replace the generated backup file (tablet) by copy the backup file from the phone to this location.

3 - Restart the "Backup and restore" process and tap on the button "Restore" on the same window which is shown in your screenshot.

I hope this could solve the problem

Yes, after doing as you suggested and running the first backup on the tablet, I noticed that aquamail created a new folder on the device which was not there previously (tablet-backup-aqua mail).

I then transferred the cell phone aquamail backup file into this NEW folder on the tablet, and it did restore correctly.

Hallelujah!

Thanks again

Great advice.

Glad to hear that your problem has been solved.
Thanks for your feedback.

PS:
I already had this problem earlier and then found this workaround for me.
