I run Aqua Mail Pro with Juice Defender (JD). JD will disable data/wi-fi (to reduce battery usage) but enable data/wi-fi every 15 minutes and trigger a background sync. In the past, this has worked great with Aqua Mail Pro where every 15 minutes when JD enabled data/wi-fi and triggered a background sync I would get any incoming mail. It seems for the past several months, this no longer works. Unless I open Aqua Mail Pro and manually perform a refresh, I get no new mail.

I have "Scheduled sync" checked, "When the app is active" checked and "IMAP Push" checked. Is there some other setting I need to restore the old behavior? The ability to fetch mail when a background sync was triggered is the main reason I purchased Aqua Mail Pro as no other mail app did that. Sadly, it seems Aqua Mail Pro no longer does it as well.

I have upgraded Android versions since I first started using Aqua Mail Pro; it seems ever since moving to a Samsung Galaxy S5 running KitKat (from a Galaxy S3 running ICS) that the fetching on background sync no longer works in Aqua Mail Pro.

Yeah, I've been disappointed in how that app appears to have been abandoned. I still run it because it APPEARS to work but perhaps I should go without it for a bit to see how things behave. Thanks
