Dont create Calendar Event
« on: June 09, 2017, 04:53:22 am »
When i receive a meeting request via my Gmail account it shows on my Calendar twice.

I use Companionlink to sync my desktop Outlook account with my Gmail account.

I think that when a request comes in, Aquamail, may set up a Calendar event.
Likewise Gmail sets one as well. So I end up with 2 (identical) events on my phone Calendar

When i try to delete one, because of the above syncing, it deletes it from my Gmail calendar, thereby deleting it from my Outlook Calendar, which in turn also removes it from my phone Calendar, so i end up with no events shoon either phone or desktop

Is there way to turn the auto Calendar generation off in Aquamail, or am i missing something?

Hi Paris,

I use MS Office on my desktop for Calendars and Contacts (and emails)
I use Companionlink to sychronise my Calendar & Contacts with my Gmail account.

On my mobile i use Aquamail for emails, and Calengoo for my Calendar.

So whatever i do (Contacts/Calendar) on my phone syncs to my MS Outlook desktop and vise versa.

If someone sends me a meeting request on my desktop (Outlook)it goes into my desktop Calendar then it syncs (via Companionlink) to my Google account and that displays on my phone.
If i set up a Calendar event on my phone, the reverse happens back to my desktop. All good!

But if someone emails me a meeting request (to my Gmail account) then Gmail automatically creates the Calendar event, and (im guessing) so does Aquamail, so i get it twice on my mobile.

I then delete one of them from my mobile just because it looks stupid having it twice.
this deletes it from my Gmail, which deletes it from my desktop.

When i check my phone again, both Calendar events are gone. So i miss the appointment.

Hope this clarifies. Maybe i have too many bits inbetween that you can suggest. But its the only way i know to have it all sync both ways between my desktop and my device.

If your account in Aqua Mail is set as Exchange then (and the account itself is Exchange):

- The Exchange server (not Outlook, not Aqua Mail) will create an event for any "invite" email that comes in

- And then Aqua will sync this event to your phone.

One way to get rid of duplicates is to turn off contact sync in Aqua Mail:

Please long press on the account (on the app's main screen) -> options and folders -> Exchange options.
