Need Help Setting Up New Account
« on: May 04, 2014, 08:21:34 am »
For two days I have tried unsuccessfully to setup a new account and I only get an error message. I have tried both the auto and manual setup, the results are the same. With the auto setup, I enter my email address xxxxxx @att.net, followed by my password. The address and password are correct, I have entered them many times and double checked for accuracy. I get the same "Account Check Error", error connecting to the Incoming POP3 server and the Outgoing SMTP server. When using the "Manual" setup, I have copied the exact data from Thunderbird's account setup windows, I get the same results.

Can someone offer suggestions on how I can get this done?

Thanks!
Charles

Yes, I get errors for both incoming and outgoing servers. Both my laptop and iPod are sending and receiving without any problems.

Problem solved! For some reason my phone was sporadically disconnecting from my router, no wi-fi so no connection to the server. Finally I've got the account set up.
