Why doesnt my laptop & android mirror each other?

I have Aquamail downloaded on my android and use Thunderbird as my email client on my laptop. I use IMAP settings and expected each email interface to mirror each other. i.e. I delete something from my laptop and it should delete from my android (and vice versa). The problem is, it doesn't.  Any idea, why? Many thanks

You can read the manual based on basic features, I think the problem is to setup deleting options.
