Folder names - Subfolder with dot?
« on: October 01, 2013, 11:36:18 am »
Hello,

I have one question. Can you please tell me, if you are using any subfolders within the main folder? And if you do, do you have a dot after the name of mainfolder? It's hard to explain like this, so I will show an example.

My main folder is called TEST. I have within the TEST folder another folder called CSS. Now when I look into the folders, I see there the list of folder, which goes like this:

TEST.
TEST.CSS

Can I get rid of that TEST. in front of CSS?

And I have another issue - red exclamation mark saying: "Too many IMAP Push connections." - how can I fix that? I need to have many folders synced.

Thanks.

Are you using GMail? If so, Google limits the # of simultaneous IMAP connections to (I think) 10. Each folder you have subscribed to with IMAP Push requires it's own connection.

I cherry pick which folders I MUST have Push enabled on then use polling for the rest.

Hard to say why there is a dot at the end.

Can you record a debug log, with "session data" enabled, and long press the account and bring up "Options and Folders" / "Folders".

The "Too many IMAP Push connections" message comes from the app itself (not Gmail), it allows up to 25 folders in push mode total.

I could increase the limit to 100 or 1000, but would that really work? I doubt it.

Kostya, I'll try to explain it a little like this:

Inbox (main folder)
Test Folder (new folder inside the Inbox)
Testing Folder (this folder is created within the Test Folder)

Now when I look at the folders in the AquaMail, I can see regular name for Inbox, Test Folder, but Testing Folder is called Test Folder.Testing Folder

Hope this makes a little bit more sense? I am attaching debug as you requested. Hope it's gonna help.

Yes it does. That's how nested folders are presented in the UI, so it's possible to tell "foo.bar" from "baz.bar" or something.

Have you thought about adding option to disable such view?
