"we$ll" instead of "well"
« on: October 31, 2025, 09:54:17 pm »
Using AM1.55.2-562 on an Android OS 15.

I think one of the recent AM updates has caused received emails that use words with apostrophes to appear as "we$ll" instead of "well". "I'll" appears as "I$ll".

Is this a bug, or is it a setting that I may have changed inadvertently. Bottom line: how to I fix it?

Thanks.

Hello phred.

Thank you for reporting this issue. It appears that certain characters, like apostrophes, are being incorrectly rendered as HTML entities in received emails. This isn’t something you can fix through settings, it’s likely a display or decoding bug introduced in a recent update.

Our team will investigate the cause and work on a fix. We’ll report back once we have more details or a confirmed resolution.

Please send us a few examples (screenshots, eml files) at support@aqua-mail.com

Thanks for confirming that the issue is a bug on your side. Of course none of this mornings emails have the issue, but as soon as I receive on I will take a screenshot and save it as an EML and get it to support.

Email with attachments sent to support.

The email that I sent to support@aqua-mail.com bounced back to me as "Permanent Error".

Please advise how to get the email to you.

Any update on this?

The issue has continued since I first reported it. I had forgotten to post a screenshot, so here it is...
