Syncing business O365 account via AquaMail
« on: February 04, 2026, 01:50:00 pm »
I am an IT Admin for the company that I work for and yesterday recevied a reminder from Microsoft that EWS is going to be switched off globally come October 2026.  In the notification I was supplied with the AppID's that are currently being used by the org.  One of which is for AquaMail.

I sync my work O365 email to AquaMail on my 'phone and wonder if this means that this will break come October?  They are recommending that any Azure Apps still using EWS should be updated to use MSGraph instead.

Is this going to happen for AquaMail?

Many thanks

Hello AquaMailDC,

Yes, that’s correct.

Aqua Mail currently uses EWS for connecting to Microsoft 365 / Exchange accounts, so Microsoft’s planned global shutdown of EWS in October 2026 would indeed affect those connections if nothing changed.

We’re fully aware of this and are already in the process of working on Microsoft Graph API support. That said, migrating from EWS to Graph is a major task, as it impacts authentication, synchronization logic, feature parity, and long-standing account behavior. Because of the scope and complexity involved, we don’t have a concrete timeline to share at this point.

We’ll communicate more details once implementation progresses further and plans are finalized.  ;)
