Today for some reason AM (Pro) has started showing multiple copies of messages in the inbox. I have Thunderbird on the desktop and AM and K-9 on the Android 7.0 phone, Samsung S7 Edge. Thunderbird is showing 81 mails in the Inbox as is K-9 on the mobile. AM is showing a total of 257 mails. When I look at AM, some mails are single entries, some are double and some are four identical entries.
If I delete a mail that is doubled up, both copies are moved to the deleted folder when AM connects to the server, but when I look at the deleted folder in AM, only one is listed, so I can move it back to the inbox annd everything is fine.
Questions: what is going on and how can I stop it happening in the future? How can I sort out the short term issue without painfully having to deal with each mail individually?
I'm sure there is a sensible explanation for this, it's probably just that I am too inept to understand what is happening and sort it out. I have rebooted the phone, but it made no difference. I'm assuming that it's an internal issue with AM on the mobile, where the inbox cache has become corrupted for some reason?
