I have been a pro user for several years. AquaMail is generally the best Android-based email client I've used and I've tried many of them.
Unfortunately I have had a recurring problem for at least the last six months (that I know of). Sometimes I receive emails that have photos attached (I think they've all been JPG files) but when I view the email on my phone or my tablet in AquaMail there is no indication of any attachment. If I view the same email message on my computer via Outlook or by accessing my email directly through Gmail's browser interface the attachment is there and behaves as expected. The JPG is also indicated if I use the built-in Gmail app that came with my phone - the attachment appears as a "link" to access the photo through Google Drive. However, in Outlook on my computer the photo definitely appears as a JPG file attached to the email, not a link.
Today I used an alternative email account to send myself the same JPG that failed to appear in an email I received yesterday. I used Outlook on my computer to send the JPG. The email message appeared in AquaMail and the JPG attachment was indicated and easily accessible to me, just as expected.
The email messages that arrive in AquaMail with no indication that the message should have had an attachment are all sent via Outlook by another person who is using a Gmail account to send them to me, so my test recreated at least that much of the scenario.
Being able to view attachments on the phone or tablet is rather important to me. I do not wish to change email clients but I cannot risk missing an important attachment. Not every email sender is courteous enough to indicate in the body of their message that an attachment should have accompanied their email message.
This problem may extend beyond missing JPG attachments. There have been some instances where a sender claimed later to have sent an attachment that I didn't see on my phone. I assumed that the sender forgot to attach the file but I seem to recall being surprised much later when I noticed, in Outlook, that I did have their attachment after all, but enough time had passed that I hadn't put 2 and 2 together to realize the problem was in AquaMail.
Thanks for your help.
