Huwaei P9 no notification sound if the device is in Doze mode

Hello,
I noticed a weird bug, if the device was idling for long time and it enter the Doze mode, when I receive a notification, only the screen will wake up with new email notification received but without the notification sound.
It will keep wake up the screen on each new email without notification sound until I exit the doze mode (wake up the device myself) then I will receive notification sound normally on new emails, it will works normally until the device go into Doze mode again.
I suspect their is something wrong with the settings but I just installed the app and using the default settings, just changed notification settings for new unread message and set the notification sound.
Please let me know how to fix this issue as this app is really the best I have ever seen, and I already tried more than 6 apps and it really deserves to go to the Pro version.

Doze mode disables certain functionality. And from what I remember reading on this forum, Huawei phones are also adding some app control ("battery saving") of their own.

There have been several questions/threads in these forums about Doze mode and Huawei phones. For proper functionality, you want to add Aquamail app to the list of apps that are excluded from the Doze mode and from Huawei's "battery saving" management.

Hello StR,
I have already applied this settings, to keep the APP running at background when screen turns off and set the ignore battery optimization for Aqua mail. Those are the first things I did.
But I noticed a setting named, notify sound only once was enabled by default so I disabled it and going to re-test after few hours.
