Find / undo mail lost to spam in error.

I've stopped getting emails from a few regulars. I've checked with them and they confirm still being sent. I'm wondering if I've accidentally tagged the senders as spam. I can't find any emails in the spam box. Is there a list somewhere of emails or senders I've marked as spam so that I can reverse? Otherwise I'm at a loss to where they're going. I have my own domain (but I'm certainly no expert) and I've checked using cPanel for spam in there but no joy. Any help gratefully received.

When you are saying "I've got my own domain", - where are you e-mails are hosted?
Some providers are automatically deleting the messages moved to "Spam" after certain amount of time (e.g. Gmail, Yahoo, ... ).

A few thoughts of what you might try.
1. You wrote that you "can't find any emails in the spam box". So, I assume you looked inside the
folder on your device. But just in case:
While you are in the message-list view,  press on the pull-down "drawer" in the left top corner and choose "other folders". In that list, find the folder that has a designation "Spam, not synced" or "Synced as Spam".  [I presume that where you've looked. If you haven't looked there yet, - check there.]
See if there is any other folder that might carry a similar name and that doesn't have that designation. (This is just in case your Aquamail has lost the correct "mapping" of its "Spam" folder with the folder's Spam folder, where previously marked-as-spam messages might still reside.
2. From the web-interface, take a look at what appears there as the "Spam" folder.

Hi. Thanks for your reply. I've tried the spam folders in Aquamail and all empty. I've temporarily disabled the spam software and auto deletion of spam software using the web hosting site. No new emails have arrived in that spam folder either. My feeling is that this is a bigger issue than just my Aquamail app. I think me details have been compromised but wondered if I had missed something.

AquaMail syncs messages in each server folder (for mail protocols that have them, IMAP and EWS) exactly as reported by the server. It does not move messages between folders on its own.

It's also useful to check web mail as a reference point.
