How do I set a custom reply-to address on my emails
« on: August 14, 2013, 08:25:53 am »
I have an account where I would like to change the reply to address for emails sent from that account.  How can I do this in Aquamail?

Well,

OK have xxx.pick@gmail.com and xxx@gmail.com as the real account.

Sending from the xxx.pick@gmail.com acquamail account, the reply address works as expeced xxx@gmail.com!

But on the reciving account, the shown e-mail header is still the xxx.pick@gmail.com!!

Any known help on this, to chage this missleading?

The "Reply-To" header has no effect on the "From" header, as correctly pointed out by Mr. Paris Geek (who is one of the world's foremost experts on AquaMail).

You need an identity, as also correctly pointed out already.

But this is not correct, to my knowledge:

However, in received message technical headers, an experienced user can easily see that the message has been sent from X, using identity Y. So don't use that for "cheating".

The message headers with have "From" with the identity, not the account.

d- In AquaMail: Long press on account name -> Identities -> Add an identity: input your new identity address, and configure outgoing server (by giving your password), the finish with "Next".

Gmail lets you use their outgoing mail server with an identity's "From" address -- provided that Gmail knows about it (Gmail / web settings, "send mail as").

Oh, and I also believe that "Treat as Alias" should be left unchecked (if this setting is enabled, you'll be receiving unread copies of all messages sent from the identity).
