Resurrect old subject "Do not Delete mail on Server"

Just over a year ago when I first started with AquaMail I posed the question.

A setting to configure AquaMail to NEVER EVER delete mail after it has downloaded from the mail server.
By that I mean any circumstances what-so-ever... Even if the Deleted folder is emptied, even if the Universe is ending, it must never Delete Server side.

Thomas replied:
"For POP3:
Long click on the account name -> Options and folders -> Account options -> Deleting messages -> "Hide in the app, keep on server"

This I did configure and it appeared to work okay.

However, when I was out and about today I received and read some messages, then deleted them in AquaMail, assuming that when I got back to the office the posts would still be on my service providers servers and I could then download them to my office computer, but this was not the case as those messages no longer existed upline.
So despite the (As per Thomas) settings, which I've re-checked, Aquamail must have issued a delete command somehow.

Has something changed recently?

There's nothing there, they've been Deleted. Totally.

But that's really an aside, I'm more concerned that Aquamail Never Ever deletes anything server side again.

Good morning (UK time).
'Tiz a new day so I thought I'd check yesterday wasn't a glitch, or a brain fart on my part.

From office computer sent myself a posting, gave it a few minutes, then did a refresh on the Tablet and Aquamail, my posting arrived, read it then deleted it.

Back at the office computer, I clicked to download any postings that might be on the server... Nothing... My recently posted message, despite what's set in Aquamail had been deleted server end by AquaMail.

So folks where's the real AquaMail setting that prevents it deleting server side, as obviously the original setting is NOT working?

Please check:
- that your delete icon in AquaMail looks like an eye with an x
- that after downloading via POP using AquaMail, before deleting any mail, you still see them at the office computer

Your office setup has probably changed, deleting emails when an app downloads them using POP.

I don't use the EyeX icon, I was under the impression that did something else, like appear to delete but only hides the posting, so I menu "Delete immediately"

Indeed after downloading to AquaMail, and before deleting I do see the return mail on the office computer.

FWIW. My office computer mail client app has not changed in years.

I'm going to try something...
I've just deleted the AquaMail received posting using the EyeX, now I'll see if the posting is still on the server from my office computer.

That's interesting, yes the mail is still on the server when used from my office computer, so that appears to solve the problem.

I must try that again...

Returns, yes that does seem to be the answer.

So additional questions...
Why does the EyeX delete conform/honour  the configuration ... "Hide in the app, keep on server" when the menu "Delete immediately" doesn't?

What does, "Hide in app, keep on server" Really mean?
