For the connection with the mail I use the VPN protocol. Can Aqua Mail set so that the program itself has achieved a VPN connection before it starts to fetch schedule?
Not really... And not something that you want. From a security perspective it is not desireable to let an app (not being the vpn app) to control the VPN connection.
If you want to establish the VPN connection automatically when AquaMail checks your mail, it shoulld be done by the VPN software (i.e. if a connection is being made to IP adress: a.b.c.d, then create the VPN tunnel and route the traffic to IP adress a.b.c.d. through the VPN tunnel.
