Hello
Where does aquamail pull the contact images/icons from?
I know it's Gravatar, but I have multiple email addresses that don't use gravatar but there is still an icon being added and I can't figure out from where.
-
I'd also like to know if there is a mechanism in place to not pull images for spoofed e-mails. We wouldn't want to have logos displayed for e-mails where it can't be verified that the companies are actually the ones who sent the e-mails.
You wouldn't want your bank's logo displayed beside an e-mail that's really a phishing email.

Hello all,
The source of the avatars is Clearbit and Gravatar.
We have identified a potential bug connected to the "Replace contact names" setting located in Aqua Mail settings > Contacts. Disabling it will fix the issue of wrong contact names.

HI,
AquaMail may also use contact images stored in your device's contact list. Ensure your device contacts have the correct images associated with the email addresses.

Has there been any further progress in resolving this bug (which I am experiencing)?

Hello,
We have pushed several updates to address this issue. The latest update is still in beta. If you can, please opt into the Beta and update Aqua Mail.
Let us know how it goes.

Thanks. I am on the Beta (and have been for some years).
About > Version Info reports that I'm on 1.51.4-479. I assume that's the latest Beta?
If it helps, I received three emails in a row, all from senders who have @googlemail.com addresses. The first two were from sender1 (who is in my contacts list), the third was from sender2 (who is NOT in my contacts list). All 3 emails show as coming from sender1 when I have "Replace contact names" checked. They display correctly (i.e. two from sender1 and one from sender2) when I uncheck this settings. I can reproduce the issue by checking/unchecking this setting.
