Title: Proper sync settings
Post by: Resnik on March 06, 2013, 07:25:42 pm
Hello, here is my situation,

I would like to check for email when my data transfer is active, I use an app that disables data transfer when my screen is off, and it turns it on, when I unlock my screen.

Now this works superb, but if I have IMAP Push enabled, and it checks for email every 5 min, and I wonder if I disable that, and only enable to check for email every 30min, would it still check for mail when I unlock my screen, or would I have to be lucky that phone would be unlocked, when that 30min cycle happens?

If you disable push, keeping the two apps in sync might be tricky, esp. since the other app does not seem to be schedule driven.

You probably want to look into using "sync on events" in my app, this is in the app's settings, in Extended mode (top item). Scroll a bit down to see. There are event types for WiFi and mobile data connection, using either or both of those should work.
