I wonder if somebody could advise on the following:
Have been using Aquamail/Btinternet email service for years without issue
Btinternet set to IMAP and emails delivered/expunged automatically
However for the last 3 weeks , emails have not been broadcast out to my mobile
They hit the webserver straightaway but remain there
I noticed from the Aquamail settings that it says IMAP/Idle not supported on this server
Have spoken to BT and they say they continue with IMAP so issue not with them
As UK large operator I assume that would be the case?
Is there a reason why IMAP from BT would now not be operational ?
Send/receive work fine apart from issue above
Any thoughts appreciated
Reggie

I've never used this email provider so I may not be of much help.
Make sure to make a backup copy of your settings first (Settings - Data Storage - Backup & restore) before making any changes.
However, I'm wondering what the idle time for IMAP is set to? Settings - Network - IMAP push mail (IMAP IDLE) keep-alive (Default: 10 minutes).
After having made a backup have you tried deleting the account and re-adding it?

Thanks for the reply Chris
I did reload the account but had the same result
Have changed the idle time to 7 minutes but still getting the 'IMAP not supported' message
-
Hi, why did you set Imap idle to 7 minutes?
It doesn't make sense to use this option, bc this is your error message:
I noticed from the Aquamail settings that it says IMAP/Idle not supported on this server
If IMAP Idle is not supported, it doesn't help to change its settings. Disable Push.
On the other hand IMAP (without Push/IDLE) feature is supported, so just set the sync interval for AquaMail or for the account to e.g. 10 minutes.

Thanks for reply
Only changed to 7 minutes to see if it would jolt something back into life
The problem is that am told by provider it does support IMAP/Idle which is different to what Aquamail setup is telling me
Am starting to think it is a problem at the provider end

BTinternet have been moving users over from the Yahoo! platform which they previously used to their own BT system. Is it possible that your account has been migrated recently?
(Although I use BTinternet for a number of my email accounts, I only access them by POP3/SMTP not by IMAP).

Thanks Justin
I think this may be the problem
I got the impression the support guy at BT wasn't providing me the full picture
