Title: Apex Pro Launcher
Post by: Gordtm on December 03, 2012, 04:06:30 pm
How do I set up Apex Pro Launcher to notify me of new email?
I can set up Apex to give me an unread count on my Gmail, but don't see any option for notifications on AquaMail for my other email accounts.

Yesterday's update (1.2.0.5.1) has Apex integration.

You may need to re-add my app's icon to the main screen once you've updated.

Also, from the Apex thread on XDA:

"
the Apex Launcher app must be at version 1.3.2 or higher. This feature only works in the pro version and the user needs to enable external notifiers in advanced settings.

Ive installed Light Flow.
It has full integration with AquaMail, including the Smart Inbox and seperately for multiple accounts.
Works perfectly! :)

Anybody else get this to work? Same thing here. I've followed all the steps outlined. No notification unread count as in the picture above.  :(

Is your Apex at version 1.3.2 or higher?

I won't know how to even start diagnosing this. My app checks that the Apex Pro unlocker is installed before it does its part, and does it by package name, "com.anddoes.launcher.pro". Can you check your device's system settings to see if the Apex unlocker is installed? Also, perhaps you could restart the device in case something got "stuck"?

Same issue here I have Sam Note2  and Apex Pro 1.3.5   and external notifiers  enabled.

tried to remove Aquamail icon and re adding to main home bottom screen area but still no counter..... restarted the unit and Apex  couple of times still don't work.

Darn.

I just released 1.2.0.6, which has a small change in this code on my side. Please let me know if the issue still happens for you.

Glad about the 1.2.0.7.

As for Nova, I don't see any developer docs showing how to do this, or even if this is possible.

If someone interested can find something along these lines, but for Nova, I'd be happy to add support:

Hi!

I have both Apex and AquaMail Pro latest versions, but can't make this work. I tried what you guys stated above, no luck. Any suggestions?

Thanks

- It has to be Apex Pro (the free version doesn't have this feature)

- In Apex, you'll need to enable "External notifiers" in its Extended (Advanced?) settings

- My app has to be installed or updated *after* Apex, so it can get the right permission (which protects access to this function in Apex)

For the last step, you can use this direct link:

I habe both Po versions. I noticed that I only get notifications for the Gmail accounts, and if Inhave the Gmail app setup.

Did you enable "External Notifiers"?

Also, Apex requires my app to get a permission to interact with it. Due to how the Android permission system works, my app has to be installed *after* Apex Pro. If it's installed before Apex, it won't be able to get the permission, and "talking" to Apex will fail.

Hi,

Sorry, it's working now. I guess I did not set it up properly. My bad  :-[
