Title: Put number of new messages onto icon (for lock screen)

Hi - I'm new to droid, and loving Aquamail.  One little usability suggestion -  I know there's a tiny icon in top left of screen when there's new mail, but how about changing the appearance of the Aquamail icon also.  Like the phone icon changes when there are missed calls.

I know there's the widget that does what I suggest, but I can't put the widget on the lock screen.

I like the idea. You mean that instead of using account notifications the Aquamail icon changes whenever you get a new mail in any account?

I read elsewhere that Android doesn't have a std method of updating icons - thus the widget.
