I downgraded it yesterday to 1.16. Now I updated it again to check this out and push is working for now. I made no changes to settings.
Thanks anyway

Was there any change in folder processing?

I have a folder that syncs as plain folder, and after updating to this version I get new messages constantly when never before I got them without a manual sync.

This is a folder I want to check only when needed and not every sync cycle.

A folder that's set to sync - will be synced on every mail check. That's exactly how it was supposed to work since... forever.

New in 1.17 is - "push mail" (which did not get "folders set to sync") now requires "scheduled mail" setting to be turned on.

I always recommended doing this, in 1.17 the logic of how those checkboxes reflects that recommendation. Also 1.17 enables "scheduled sync" for you if "push mail" is on - once, after upgrading.

So maybe that's it, you had only push mail before and not scheduled sync. Now you have both.

From your response I get you can't reverted to old behaviour, is that right?

Re: From your response I get you can't reverted to old behaviour, is that right?

Correct.

If you search the forum you'll see that there have been cases in the past of people trying to use "push = on / scheduled = off" and having issues. And you'll see that always said that "if you want push please also enable scheduled".

1.17 just made it "official".

Now do you have a folder where you don't want notifications?

You can go to account options / folders, tap the "settings" icon next to the folder, and turn off notifications *for this folder*. That's been there since a year or two. Maybe three.
