I just reset my email password using my computer browser and I need to change it in the aquamail app, but it is not possible.
- After select the account in the accounts list screen of the app, appears the small menu with the option "Account Setup"
- Then the app displays:
edit account
Email
Other (mail@gmail.com)
and only 2 options: manual and next
- If I select manual the app displays Incoming Server, server type IMAP ...
- If I select next the app displays outgoing server ...
- If I select next the app redirects me to the web page accounts.google.com
and never appears the screen to change my password
Please help

What are you trying to do exactly?
Gmail accounts use OAUTH2 - where the app does not know, store, or transmit the password.

You are on the right track :)
If you are notusing OAUTH2
- If I select manual the app displays Incoming Server, server type IMAP ...
On this window, just tap in the upper area, scroll down a bit and you'll see the field for entering your new password.

No.
Gmail accounts in Aqua use OAUTH2.
There is no password.
Access is "granted" once and stays, unless "revoked", and when you change the password (in Gmail web mail settings) - there is nothing to update.
List of apps with access to your account, you should see Aqua listed there:

Thank you very much for all the answers.
Problem is solved.

Hi there,
I have the same problem but still could not fix it.
Did change my gmail password from web browser, then changed it as well on my cell under Google account (not Aquamail). While I can receive emails, I can't send (authentification error). Tried to erase then reintroduce imap server to no avail. Can't send from Gmail app neither so problem is in configuring google but would need help.
The problem seems related to the fact that I am sending emails as an alias "myname@otherdomain.com" vs "myname@gmail.com"
thank you in advance :-\

Oh this is different.
You're using an identity.
To check its settings please long press the account in Aqua Mail -> identities
Tap the identity's name
Will "configure outgoing server" be checked or not?
- If checked - there will be a password field below, update that to the right password *for the identity's mail server* and tap Next (or tap Manual to check what server it is).
- If not checked - means you're telling Aqua Mail to send messages "from: identity" through Gmail's outgoing mail server. And then if there are errors, they will need to be fixed on Gmail's web site (which keeps the identity's real outgoing server and its password).

I'm having a variation of this problem, just changed gmail pwd, works fine with gmail.
In aqua, getting "incoming server login error".
Google accounts permissions do not list aqua, which suggests no oauth2
None of the suggestions above, nor the one in the FAQ, work.
Please advise; thanks!

You should be able to long press on the account -> account setup -> and should either see a password input field (if not using oauth2) or not (if using oauth2). Update the password if there, and either way tap Next and if oauth2 permissions need to be updated - the app will prompt you to.
