Hi
Apologies if I have missed anywhere this subject may have been covered before, but can anyone advise how to transfer all settings and email accounts for both Aquamail +Pro Unlocker.
I will be moving from a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge to a Galaxy S9 Plus.
I have seen recommendations to back up to Google drive, but seems to be for normal version, rather than including Pro Unlocker.
I am not averse to setting up email accounts from fresh, but how would I transfer Pro Unlocker. Do I need a new code?
I am using Aquamail version 1.14.0-812

The app's backup / restore feature is for transferring your accounts and app settings.
As for Pro activation state - it depends, but in any case you do not need to pay again.
We have info on how to activate your existing purchase here:
http://www.aqua-mail.com/?page_id=206
If you'd purchased a separate Unlocker app - then please just install that on the new phone, it's better to not try to "transfer" it.
Google will store your purchase on their servers, forever.
If/when you switch or reset your device, please configure it with the same @gmail.com account (in system settings / accounts) as before.
This will make the unlocker and other previously purchased apps show in the Google Play app (under My apps) as “purchased”, so you won’t have to pay again. You can use the unlocker on multiple devices the same way, by configuring them all with the same @gmail.com account.
Please install the base, free app first, and then the unlocker. Run the unlocker to activate the free app to “pro” status.

Hi
I transferred to new Samsung Galaxy S9+ (from S7) everything went smoothly on transfer from backups. (I did not transfer AM Pro as suggested, but downloaded fresh from Playstore)
Well almost smoothly apart from one thing.
Only issue I have is the unread/new message notification no longer appears on the app icon. :(
I have updated to version: 1.42.2-836.
disabled notifications / enabled notifications - no change
Changed Notify about (all variations) no message count
disabled individual account notifications - no message count shows.
Disabled then restarted phone, enabled then restarted phone in hope it may kick start counter, again no unread message counter
Would be grateful for any suggestions to get the counter back

Hello,
Please go to our FAQ page and search for "Unread badge on the app icon - Samsung with Android 8.0 (Oreo)"
Here is the link

Nadia
many thanks
All those setting where enabled, but App icon is still not showing a message count.
I have enabled the 'AM Pro widget' by pressing on home screen and then 'Widgets', then counters and that shows the unread message count, but the message count is in a small font that you have to look very closely to read the count
Any ideas what I may have overlooked

Starting with Android 8.0 (Oreo) Samsung completely changed how the “unread badge” feature works. Previously an app could directly set the badge’s value, this is not longer possible. At all.
The “new way” is managed by the phone’s software and its value is automatically taken from the app’s notifications (in the phone’s top bar).
There are two settings to check / adjust before this works.
1 – Phone settings -> Apps -> Aqua Mail -> Notifications -> enable “Show bagde”.
This however will only trigger on single-message notification, so you’ll have either nothing or a “1” on the badge.
To make it work for multiple-message notifications, please:
2 – Aqua Mail settings -> message notifications -> enable “Smart Watch enhancements”.
This also changes how on-phone notifications look. You’ll be able to expand (swipe down) on a notification that’s “about” more than one message, turning into individual “cards”, one per message, each with its own action buttons (mark read and so on).
This “enhanced” notification style – which first appeared in Android 7.0 – works with the new Samsung badge feature as expected, even when there are multiple unread messages.
PS – the badge count will clear when the app’s notifications are cleared.

Do you get notifications from Aqua Mail? In the phone's status bar area (top of the screen)?

Hi Kostya
I have carried out the following (as mentioned in my earlier email).
Phone settings -> Apps -> Aqua Mail -> Notifications -> enable “App icon badges”. (also checked this is same in Aqua mail Pro app.)
Aqua Mail settings -> message notifications -> enable “Smart Watch enhancements”.
When an email arrives, a notification appears on home screen status bar, but the app icon does not get an unread message notification
The widget gets updated though (as seen in my post of screen capture earlier)
But, I require the unread message count, as this is a most useful feature
-
Situation is this
does not matter how many messages I received, there is no display of unread messages on app icon.
If the widget is enabled, it will display the unread message count
I decided to set up another email app, and found other email app icons will show number of unread messages
I have followed all the instructions previously given, so find it odd that Aquamail pro is not working
