Title: for gmail account switch from aqua-star=>gmail-star to aqua-star=>inbox-pinned
Post by: gatemaze on March 04, 2018, 01:07:23 am
For a gmail account, how do I switch the starred messages default behaviour in aqua mail that maps to the starred messages that is used in gmail to be mapped to the pinned messages that is used in google inbox instead?

Ummm.....

We use the standard way to "flag" a message, it's in the IMAP spec since 2003.

How a mail service or another mail app interprets that - is out of our control.

Turns out, Gmail has a special folder that contains all starred messages. Other mail services don't.

If Inbox app has a way to "pin" a message - well good for that app if that's how it interprets "starred" or maybe it's a whole separate feature, but again I don't think this is something we can access.

Thanks, yes I think it is not possible unfortunately. It seems that the inbox "pinned"/star system is basically a gmail label (can search from classic gmail with label:reminder), but it is hidden and reserved, so even if trying to add this  label manually it does not allow from gmail.

Yep I just tried this in my account - the "snoozed" ("pinned") folder / label is not returned as an IMAP folder.
