I receive my mails on different time. How can I set to receive mails at XX:15, XX:30, XX:45 XX:00 minutes after full hour?
-
What do you mean by "different time", how different?
A few minutes is normal, recent Android versions (since 6.0 or so) may shift the times around a bit, and also Samsung has a bug where alarms fire early by 3-5 minutes.
But in general, x:00, x:15, x:30, x:45 is app's default settings.
-
Sometimes I received my mails at 10:00 but sometimes 10:07 however i seted 10:00 / XX:15...
-
Normal for recent (since 5.0) Android versions.
To save the battery, Android may "delay" application "events" to wake up the device once and handle multiple apps at the same time.
-
So this is normal???? For me is strange. I set 10:15 and Aqua check 10:22???
-
Yes this is normal.
As I wrote above, with recent Android versions, a time based event set for 10:15 (let's say) - can fire a bit later.
https://developer.android.com/reference/android/app/AlarmManager.html
Note: Beginning with API 19 (KITKAT) alarm delivery is inexact: the OS will shift alarms in order to minimize wakeups and battery use.
-
I understand "a bit" later - it means 1 minute or 2 minutes but not 6 or 10 and almost always different. I thought that I uncheck push mail, mail synchronize at my set time. / Can you correct it in the newest versions? We got now Android Oreo and this is not correct from Android 5.
-
Re: We got now Android Oreo and this is not correct from Android 5.
Android may delay alarms starting with 4.4.
And overall, every Android release since has been more and more "aggressive" about "optimizing battery usage".
One thing I'm sure about is - the app sets those "time based triggers" for whatever schedule is set in its settings.
-
OK, but: I have off optimizing battery for Aqua and nothing of alarms in Android (I have 6.0.1) is not delay.
-
Aquer: This is not problem of Samsung or Android!!! This is problem of aquamail. Some people try use a modification "Aqua Mail v1.12.0-688 Final Stable [Mod Lite]" but the best solution of this problem (unfortunately temporary) is restart device or change client. I have to say this is nervous!
-
Hello that's not correct.
Many problems come with Samsung modifications.
I have got a Samsung Galaxy s7 6.0.1
I take the app calengoo and had same problems.
There the notifications come to late. Sometimes 1 Minute, sometimes 10 or more Minutes.
The developer tested for weeks with me. Then we get a tip of the developer of lightflow.
Samsung takes a Trick to save battery.
All apps which have not alarm in the package name are sleeping. You can not deactivate this. Only with the same app and different package name with alarm in it.
But this breaks the Google Play Store download.
So it is not a solution for the developers.
The developer of calengoo fixed it with an app that contains alarm in package name. This app starts the calengoo app.
In Android 7 this should be fixed.
Greats,
Thomas

Re: Samsung takes a Trick to save battery.
Further, they know it's wrong, so they "whitelist" certain apps (Gmail, Google+, Facebook...)
-
Ive never had problems with notifications, calendars, alarms etc.
-
Ok - we have problems, but can we solve it? Maybe push mail? How can I set correctly push mail?
-
Hello,
Push works great for me.
But it depends on your Mail Server and your Internet connection.
Thomas
-
My push doesnt work. Im looking good settings
-
I think there is a problem with your mail server or internet connection.
What's your Mail Server?
Thomas
-
First I have to knowu correctly settings to push. May I?
-
You have to choose imap and not pop3.
Then push is enabled per default.
That's it. No more settings.

Ok I set but I have too many connections error.

Re: Ok I set but I have too many connections error.
Gmail? The max is 15 connections per account, counting all devices and mail apps (excluding Google's own Gmail app).
I'm guessing maybe you enabled push mail for too many folders.
Or maybe your device's internet connection is unreliable so existing connections get aborted, and Aqua Mail has to create new ones, running over.
Or maybe you're using a desktop (let's say) mail app that's very aggressive with push mail, enabling it for every folder, and using up the limit (believe I've seen Thunderbird do that).
-
I have not gmail account. (wp.pl) What does it mean "you enabled push mail for too many folders"? Where can I change it? (Internet conncetions is OK)
"very aggressive with push mail"? So I have to check my desktop mail not so offten or what?
-
Ok, I'm not aware of any push mail limitations at wp.pl (but there could be, I'm not in Poland :) )
You can check how many folders you've got with push in Aqua Mail by:
- Long pressing on the account -> options and folders -> folders
- Every folder with push enabled will have help text saying that, below folder name
Re: desktop mail app
It's not about how often you check mail - some desktop mail apps (believe I've seen this with Thunderbird) can put every single server folder into push mail mode, without your doing anything.
Anyway, also feel free to capture the error in Aqua Mail's debug log (please see the link just below in my signature)

I tested once again synchronize mails and:
1) First I installed this version AquaMail: AquaMail-Pro-1.14.0-752 (This is the newest version with mod)
2) At the beggining I loaded backup (If you have not - set aquamail, uninstall and install once again)
3) Now - dont touch anything (Any settings including save battery - Its strange, but it must be on!) (If you set anything synchronize failed)
4) That all - Worked on wifi and data mobile
so... AquaTeam - im affraid that you dont know your own product :)
-
Ill try and I will say whats going on. I hope its gonna be better.
I have to say - it works !!!!!
