Title: No widget
Post by: waynesworld937 on October 29, 2017, 10:26:05 am
I've just installed Aquamail and Pro key and restored accounts on my new Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom. I cannot find the widget. I've looked multiple times.it just isn't there.

Hello,
Widgets will not be restored. That's a problem of Android, not Aquamail.
You have to reset it on your homescreen manually.

Back in Android 2.* days, this could happen if installing to the "memory card"...

Are other apps widgets there? I mean it's a new phone, are you looking in the right place?

Version 6.0.1

Very sure. Long Press on Home Screen > Apps & Widgets > Widgets > Scroll through many times.

I've installed the Calendar widget and a 'Extended Controls' widget no problem.

OK,  so I found it... Labelled 'Messages'. Which You can imagine I ignored till now because I thought it was Text Messages. And the icon was too small for me to make out the text. (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7OGcalUJSgHQVI1OEc3LUNMY00/view?usp=drivesdk)

Android 6.0 is supposed to group widgets by app name. I'm attaching a screenshot.

And so, on 6.0 and newer, our widgets' titles are just "Counters", "Messages", "Text to speech" to avoid the duplicate "Aqua Mail".

Unfortunately Android does not provide a way for us to know if your particular launcher groups widgets by app name (which we assume on 6.0) or if it doesn't (your launcher).

( note how Google Calendar widgets do not have Calendar in their titles either for same reason )
