Of the four accounts I have configured, only one (Gmail) is set up for IMAP Push. Apparently whenever an account is configured this way the notification icon (for Sync & Push) appears up top always on, at the behest of the one account.
I did find in the app level Look and Feel a toggle that switches this off, but I'm wondering if there's an account level control for this so that I can see the Sync occurrences for the other accounts.

You can switch off notification for the Push part (which makes it being always on).

Well yes, I have switched it off at the app level (which affects all accounts), but I only want it to affect the one IMAP Push account (Gmail in this case).

Sorry there is no account level setting for the notification.
There is a per-account setting for scheduled sync and push *themselves* but as far as the notification goes - it's "app global".

OK, thanks Kostya. I'll make do as is. Not a large issue.
