Title: Message display size
Post by: someone on June 23, 2017, 07:59:26 pm
I have a question about the display size of an opened message on my nexus 5 phone using android 5.1.1.

The displayed text is slightly too large horizontally to fit entirely within the screen. It's not much. Maybe just 5% too large. I can easily pinch it down to the correct size. So it's not a big deal but I don't recall this being the case in the past. Maybe I changed a setting or AM changed something. I don't know.

It's not a big deal, just a minor annoyance but is there something I could do to change things?

Thanks.
Edit:
On further investigation it appears to occur only on some emails and not others. So it may be the email sender's fault, not AM.

I've seen a few cases -- where an email's width as calculated by the HTML rendering code ("Android System WebView") that Aqua uses to calculate the necessary scaling factor - would turn out to be wrong, a bit too small, compared to when a message is actually displayed.

One way around it is to make sure to turn off app settings -> message view -> slim padding, which'll give more room for error (literally!).

Thank you Kostys. Will turn off slim padding.
