Hello,
following problem:
Samsung Galaxy S6, Android 6.0.1, AM 1.10.0-423
Push Mail 2 Account, T-Online and DomainFactory
No problems on normal connection.
Today I was in a region with very poor Internet connection. Sometimes I receive a mail.
Then I drive home and the Internet Connection is perfect, 4G.
At home, wlan, everything normal, i thought.
But I received no mails. So I started AM and at this Moment many mails received.
So for me, AM stopped working. I configured push and every hour to retrieve mails.
But the mails were older than an hour at full time.
So push doesn´t reactivate/keep alive. And Sync every hour works not, too!?
Do you have an idea?
Thank you very much,
Thomas

Did you by any chance "force stop" Aqua Mail or swipe it "off" from "recent apps"?
On some Android versions, it "freezes" apps and prevents them from working in the background.

Swipe away from recent apps could be.
I thought that it is ok for AM.
Force stop never...
Thank you very much,
Thomas

Re: Swipe away from recent apps could be.
On some Android versions, this will make an app go into "frozen" state where it won't run in the background until you restart its window.
( if my memory serves, this originally came up on the @android-developers mailing list back in Android 4.3 days... )

Hello Kostya,
I have to remember me that I swipe not AM in recent list.
But why I hadn't the problem with other Email Clients?
K... and Maild... had no problem with delete in recent apps list.
Thank you very much,
Thomas

I've no idea about "other apps" -- what I wrote is just a guess.
I only know that when there is a network error - there is nothing in the app that deliberately stops mail checks, so the subsequent mail checks should occur as usual.
You are welcome to collect a debug log of course (please see the link in my signature below).

I wonder if other apps have multuple processes and or services running, and one of those is not affected by swiping ... But I have no idea if that could work.

Kostya,
do you work with AlarmManager or Jobscheduler for the wakeups?
I asekd the developer of Calengoo, because his app works after swipe away.
He takes both, to be sure to work.
Probably it is an idea!?
Thank you,
Thomas
